St. Mark's is blessed to have John McIlray as its Organist/Choirmaster.
Under his leadership, the Chancel Choir sings with almost professional
quality, although you don't have to be a professional to join! Everyone
is welcome.
The choir provides music for the 11:00 am Sunday service throughout the year
as well as for special events such as the Evensong Service of Nine Lessons
and Carols in December, which is based on the old English tradition presented
by King's College at Cambridge University. The Choir is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music.
The choir also travels occasionally. In the summer of 2001, it joined other choirs
in giving three choral presentations at the Cathedral in Canterbury, Central
Methodist Hall in London, and St. Gile's Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Come practice on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM, and lift your voice on high.
