St. Mark's Church School

Our goal is to give our children the gift of love, knowledge and understanding in Christ. As Christians, we have a responsibility to see that our children receive a solid Christian education to ensure their spiritual and moral growth.

The Church School is involved with the All Saint's Day parade, decorating the Jesse Tree, the St. Nicholas Celebration, Christmas Eve, the Palm Sunday Processional, and Easter egg hunts.

Christian Education classes are available for students from preschool through high school. Church School students meet 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Sunday morning. New children starting during the school year can register in their classroom. The church school year ends the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend.

Contact Anne Langenwalter, "Church School Director," at the church office for more information.

St. Mark's Youth Ministry

All interested youth between the sixth and twelfth grades are encouraged to take part in the St. Mark's Youth Ministry!

Christians In Action

The St. Mark's Christians In Action Youth (CIA) group provides an excellent opportunity for youth in grades 6th through 9th to meet socially on a regular basis. During the school year, CIA meets on the second and fourth Sunday each month. In the summer, the CIA meets once a month. Check the church calendar or with the church office for specific dates and times. All fun events and service projects are designed to strengthen the group relationship and provide a positive Christian environment as the youth transition from pre-teenagers to high school.

Senior Youth Group - 9th through 12th grades

The group meets once a month on the first Sunday of the month after the 11AM Service. The group eats lunch together and then attends a social event such as bowling, a movie, or miniature golf. The Senior Youth Group Leaders are Anne and Mark Langenwalter.

Journey to Adulthood

Journey to Adulthood is a six-year spiritual program specifically designed for our kids in junior high and high school. We begin by celebrating them as young men and women of the church. They devote time to forming friendships and learning to mutually support each other, while we teach them life skills such as listening, assertion, prayer, and leadership. At the end of their fourth year they will go on a pilgrimage, and return to explore how to take their place as adults in our parish. At St. Mark's we are excited to be in our third year of the program, with a class beginning their R-13 year and a class in their first year of J2A.

For more information contact the parish office, 964-5820, or the director, Deb Cannon, 985-6908.
